All on 4
The all-on-four implant technique (quad implant system) is a cutting-edge variation on traditional implants. Instead of one implant for each lost tooth, four upper and four lower implants are used as significant anchors in this method. The dental prosthesis is then attached to these implants. This approach has been utilized for 20 years, demonstrating its scientific success. Two implants are put at an angle of 30 to 45 degrees in the posterior part of the chin, while the other two implants are positioned perpendicular to the anterior region. When the bone melts in the lower jaw’s molar region, the lower jaw nerve and the maxillary sinuses in the upper jaw prevent implantation in these areas. Advanced surgical methods are required to implant here, which entails a year of treatment time and a considerable expense for the patient. The-all-on-four approach allows patients to have a fixed prosthesis in front of these anatomical obstacles. Implants are inserted in the morning, and temporary fixed prostheses are implanted in the evening using the All-on-four procedure. Permanent prostheses are created after 3-4 months. During this period, patients do not live without teeth at all.
One of the most significant advantages of this technology is the ability to create implants and prostheses on the same day without the use of complex surgical techniques. Patients arrive with detachable dentures and leave with fixed dentures in the evening of the same day. Because there is little pressure on the wounds, the procedure has relatively few complications.
Why All-on-four?
The all-on-four treatment concept is a technique in which an edentulous or soon-to-be edentulous patient has a fixed full chin prosthetic restoration built on 4-6 implants on the same day as the surgical procedure. It promotes patient contentment by considering function, aesthetics, taste, speech, and self-confidence. At the same time, patients choose this procedure because of the relatively quick and successful treatment duration. This method also contributes to the prevention of bone loss. The therapy time is really quick. It is not a treatment that drives people to heal because there is a comfortable healing process. Patients’ eating and speaking abilities are not affected when temporary prostheses are used on the day of the implant. All-on-four procedure can be given to all edentulous (no teeth) individuals who do not have any condition that may prohibit dental implant surgery and have sufficient bone volume for those who wish to do this procedure. All-on-four therapy is a long-term proven treatment with a 10-year follow-up in the lower jaw and a 5-year follow-up in the upper jaw. One of the reasons why the therapy is usually selected is that it is a long-lasting medical procedure.
